Overwhelmed

Oh, the beauty of multiple partners! Doesn’t today’s free-love revival feel so good and liberating? Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, not at all. You can be as sex-positive as you want, but occasionally being with more than one person isn’t a good scene and we feel the need to acknowledge that. This episode is not meant to be a cautionary tale, but an honest conversation.

A PHONE CALL
Kaitlin calls a friend, the love of her former life. Seven years ago, they had one of those fast-paced, girls-on-the-edge relationships. Like, shit from the movies. The kind of girl you always wished you were. Picture Rayanne and Angela from "My So Called Life," except that they were both Rayanne (the fun one). One night Kaitlin brought a guy home that she liked even though she foresaw that her partner-in-crime and him would hit it off in a way that made her a little jealous. They end up having a threesome.

INTIMACIES
After a night of performing intimate acts in exchange for cash, Gloria heads home. Once in bed with her own lover, she wonders if she can really keep personal life and work life separate.

LOVE IN THE STEAM ROOM
Arnie Kantrowiz is a college professor emeritus, author, and activist in the gay movement and AIDS crisis in New York. Just before then, he was very active in the 1970s gay sex scene. Arnie met his life partner, Larry, at The Continental, a now historic bathhouse — the one where Bette Middler got her start. They have been together for 30 years and have maintained a healthy, open relationship throughout.
